abstract A styrene base random copolymer which has a weight average molecular weight of 200,000 to 1,000,000 and comprises a monovinylbenzene unit and a divinylbenzene unit, wherein the divinylbenzene unit is present in an amount of 50 to 500 ppm by weight based on the weight of the monovinylbenzene unit and consists of p-divinylbenzene and m-divinylbenzene units in a weight ratio of 100 : 0 to 75 : 25, has good impact strength, melt tension, heat resistance and fluidity. A process for producing the copolymer and moulded articles made from it are also described.
