A process is disclosed for producing a cellulose suspension in a liquid, aqueous tertiary amine oxide by mixing crushed cellulose with liquid, aqueous tertiary amine oxide. The process is characterised in that (A) crushed cellulose is contacted with liquid, aqueous tertiary amine oxide, forming a first mixture; (b) said first mixture is mechanically spread in a layer on a surface and conveyed on said layer while being intensively mixed, until a homogeneous suspension is formed that is then removed from the surface, and (C) steps (A) and (B) are continuously carried out. |
