abstract | A combination water heater 1, 30 particularly for use in hard water comprises a boiler water tank 2 and an internal water flow heat exchanger 5 mounted within the water tank 2. In one case, the water flow heat exchanger 5 comprises two interconnected cylindrical water flow tanks 10, 11. The internal heat exchange surface of each of the tanks 10, 11 is cleaned by scraper blades 15 mounted on and extending radially outwardly from a central shaft 16. The shafts 16 are operated periodically by a turning handle 20. In another version, (Figures 6 - 10) the water flow heat exchanger 35 comprises a number of portions 36, the internal surfaces of which are cleaned by scraping discs 50 mounted on a shaft 40. <IMAGE> |
