abstract | An assay to detect the presence and/or amount of passively acquired immunoglobulin in immune-deficient animals, especially horses and ruminants, by obtaining a sample comprising nasal secretions of said animal. The sample is then exposed to antibodies to detect and/or measure passively acquired immunoglobulin therein. Any presence of said immunoglobulin may result in a colour change that is visible to the naked eye. The present invention also provides a kit for performing said assay. |
