titleOfInvention Vibration isolator
abstract A vibration isolator 3 is disposed between a vibration source, such as an engine, and a base on which the vibration source is supported. The vibration isolator has an elastic member 18b provided between the vibration source and the base to elastically support the vibration source, a main chamber 20 in which a fluid is enclosed and the volume of which is changed according to deformation of the elastic member, a sub chamber 21 defined by an elastic membrane 15 and communicating with the main chamber through an orifice 23, S, a movable member 41 provided in a fluid chamber formed by the main and sub chambers, and an electromagnetic actuator (39) for driving the movable member. The actuator is fixed to the elastic membrane in a fluid sealing manner, and drives the movable member from the outside of the fluid chamber through attachment members 37a, 41a connected to the movable member. The actuator may be controlled by a system sensing rotational angle, position and acceleration (Figure 3). Details of various forms of the actuator and magnets which may be used therein are also disclosed (Figures 8a, 8b, 16, 17). <IMAGE>
