abstract The composition comprises a triglyceride nutrient and an additive eg Lecithin to promote absorption of the nutrient, or a metabolic derivative thereof, into the blood stream of the animal. The triglyceride nutrient includes at least one medium-chain triglyceride. When the composition comprises more than one triglyceride, there is provided a higher proportion of medium-chain triglycerides than short- and long-chain triglycerides. The composition is particularly useful for increasing the probability of survival of young animals, e.g. infant and neonatal animals.
