abstract |
A Process for removing dichlorofluoromethane (21) from 1-chloro-2,2,2-trifluoroethane (133a) which comprises adding a third component which undergoes a non-ideal interaction with 21 and/or the 21/133a azeotrope such that the volatility of 21 or the 21/133a azeotrope is increased relative to 133a and distilling the mixture. A particularly useful third component is trans-butene which may be in admixture with cis-butene. |
