titleOfInvention | Central heating and domestic hot water supply system |
abstract | For operating under an electricity supply tariff wherein the electricity supply is rendered unavailable for one or more day periods of not more than three hours, an existing domestic central heating system is converted by using a boiler unit B incorporating a reservoir with electric immersion heaters capable of raising the water to a temperature approaching boiling point. The storage cylinder is connected to the existing central heating feed and expansion tank and contains water from the boiler and radiator system. Domestic Mains water is heated by an indirect heat exchanger fed by the cylinder. The cylinder is heated by an electric immersion heater to a temperature approaching boiling point. Hot water for the radiator system may be drawn from the cylinder if the heat content of the boiler B becomes exhausted, and hot water for heating the domestic hot water may be drawn from the boiler B if the heat content of the cylinder becomes exhausted. <IMAGE> |
