The method includes heat setting liquid heat settable material (14, 114) e.g. vinyl plastisol, within a casting mould (80, 180) to be bonded to a hard base (50, 112) with an adhesive member at very low pressures to form a trim strip. The base (50) may be heat laminated to the material (19), by applying it to the heat set material (14) within the mould, whilst retained by vacuum upon a cover plate (90), or alternatively the base (112) may be applied by the cover plate (190) prior to heat setting of the plastisol.
