abstract |
A molten steel pouring nozzle having a bore through which molten steel flows, of which an inner portion forms the bore is formed of a refractory consisting essentially of: i) from 40 to 89 wt.% of a zirconia clinker comprising calcium zirconate there being within the zirconia clinker from 8 to 35 weight parts relative to 100 weight parts of the zirconia clinker of calcium oxide; ii) from 10 to 35 wt.% of graphite; and iii) from 1 to 25 wt.% of calcium silicate containing from 40 to 54 weight parts of calcium oxide relative to 100 weight parts of the calcium silicate. |
