abstract The composition, which is useful in a ramjet, comprises: (a) a polyalkadiene (such as polybutadiene) having reactive end groups (such as -OH or-COOH groups) which have been reacted with a cross-linking agent; and (b) less than 40% of a nitro group-containing explosive material in which oxygen atoms bonded to nitrogen in nitro groups make up more than 40% by weight of the explosive material. The compositions release reducing gases on autopyrolysis; these gases burn in the presence of air in operation of a ramjet. The explosive material may be PETN, HMX, RDX, TNT or nitrocellulose. <IMAGE>
