abstract |
An impregnated charcoal for use in trapping of fission products such as iodine and methyl iodide comprises a quaternary compound of 1,4-diazabicyclo [2.2.2] octane impregnated into coconut-based charcoal. Such impregnated charcoals based on the combination of 1,4-diazabicyclo [2.2.2] octane with an inorganic acid, particularly hydrogen chloride, age relatively slowly under humid conditions when the charcoal is coconut-based. |
