abstract The present invention provides a monoclonal antibody which is directed against natural or recombinant human leukocyte interferon (HLI), characterised in that the antibody is of IgG isotype, it has a gamma 1, heavy chain, and it binds to recombinant HLI A and D but not to recombinant HLI B and F, which is suitable for use in purifying HLI, particularly by affinity chromatography.
