abstract | A process for preparing a polyolefin by polymerizing at least one alpha -olefin in the presence of a catalyst, said catalyst comprising the combination of the following components [I], [II] and [III]: [I] a solid catalyst component obtained by supporting a titanium compound (5) on a solid material, said solid material being obtained by contacting the following components (1)-(4): (1) a magnesium halide, (2) at least one compound represented by the general formula <IMAGE> wherein R<1>, R<2> and R<3> are each a hydrocarbon radical having 1 to 24 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group, or a hydrogen or halogen atom, R<4> is a hydrocarbon radical having 1 to 24 carbon atoms and n is 1</=n</=30, (3) a compound represented by the general formula O l P(OR<5>)3 wherein R<5>s, which may be alike or different, are each a hydrocarbon radical having 1 to 24 carbon atoms and l is 0 or 1, and (4) a compound represented by the general formula CH3COOR<6> wherein R<6> is a hydrocarbon radical having 1 to 24 carbon atoms, or a compound represented by the general formula R<7>OR<7> wherein R<7>s, which may be alike or different, are each a hydrocarbon radical having 1 to 24 carbon atoms; [II] an organometallic compound; and [III] a compound represented by the general formula <IMAGE> wherein R<1>, R<2> and R<3> are each a hydrocarbon radical having 1 to 24 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group, or a hydrogen or halogen atom, R<4> is a hydrocarbon radical having 1 to 24 carbon atoms and n is 1 </= n </= 30. |
