A liquid jet recording head comprises a substrate comprising a support 109, a resistive heater layer 110, electrodes 113, 114 electrically connected with the resistive heater layer, and an upper layer comprising a first protective layer 111 comprising an inorganic insulating material, a second protective layer 116 comprising an inorganic material, and a third protective layer 112 comprising an organic material, the second protective 116 layer and the third protective layer 112 overlap each other in the vicinity 101 where heat is generated by the heater layer and the overlapping width of these layers ranges from 10 mu m to 500 mu m. The second protective layer 116 can be in the form of a strip that covers portions 101 of adjacent heater layers. <IMAGE> |
