| abstract |
Containers are made by thermoforming with the application of vacuum or pressure to a blank comprising 2 or more superimposed layers of different thermo-plastic polymer film which is pressed together preferably beforehand and particularly in the zone of the blank only, at a temperature at which the layers fuse together in the absence of added adhesive. The layers are selected from material affording improved protection for the contents of the container particularly food and to give improved strength by the use of selected outer layer material which is kept out of contact with the contents. |
