Fiber optic energy sensor |
abstract |
A fibre optic hydrophone comprises a compliant membrane 7-9 in which is embedded an optical fibre 8-9 and an inner cylinder 202 of a resilient compliant material. The method of making this device includes the steps of winding an optical fibre on a form, coating the fibre and form with a liquid material which when dried or hardened becomes a compliant membrane and then dissolving, melting or collapsing the form. <IMAGE> |
