A method for reducing the formation of unprocessable particles and incrustations in the polymerization of vinyl monomers, in particular vinyl chloride, in aqueous suspension, consists of polymerization in the presence of dialkylethers of general formula I, R<1>-O-R2 (I> where R1 and R2 are identical or different branched or straight-chain alkyls containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, as individuals or their mixture, and/or cycloalkylethers of general formula II, <IMAGE> where R means alkylene containing 4 to 6 carbon atoms, as individuals or their mixtures in an amount up to 20 weight % related to the weight of monomer. Diethyl ether, tert-butylmethyl ether and tetrahydrofuran are the preferred ethers. |
