abstract | Dry transfer materials can be produced using electrophotographic copying machines and multilayer sensitised materials. The multilayer materials consist of a base sheet 2 with image-accepting layer 1, capable of accepting an electrophotographic toner image. In addition, the sheet has one or more thermographically sensitised layers 4, 5 thereon so that a thermographic image may be produced in register with the electrophotographic toner image, conveniently at the same time as that toner image is fused. Layer 5 is a low-tack pressure adhesive composition containing metal salts, e.g. Ag behenate, and 3 is a release coat. The toner image and or thermographic image may be on the same or opposite sides of the base sheet. Transfers of high optical density may be produced quickly and easily in this way. <IMAGE> |
