titleOfInvention Substituted acetamides, a process for their preparation and pharmaceutical compositions containing them
abstract New compounds, 2-(hexahydroazepino)- N-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)- acetamide, and its acid addition salts, especially the hydrochloride thereof, and pharmaceutical compositions containing them are prepared by reacting 2,6-dimethylaniline with chloracetyl chloride to give 2-chloro- N-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)-acetamide which is reacted in turn with hexahydroazepine. The new compound and the derivatives thereof have local anaesthetic activity and anti- arrhythmic activity.
