abstract A tocotrienol concentrate is obtained from an oleaginous starting material by dissolving or extracting the oleaginous material in or with a non-polar organic solvent preferably after removal of free fatty acids, contacting the solution so-obtained with an anionic ion-exchange resin to adsorb the tocotrienols and eluting the thus adsorbed material with an eluant which may be a mixed solvent of an alcohol and an acid, preferably followed by further purification by column chromatography or other suitable method. A concentrate containing 70% by weight or more of the tocotrienols and vitamin E may be obtained and is useful as an anti-oxidant or a physiologically active substance.
