A medium for the oxidative colouring of hair based on developer substances conventional in hair colouring, conventional coupler substances, other conventional colouring components as well as conventional additives, is characterised in that it consists of a combination of: A) At least one, 2,5-diaminophenolether of the general formula: <IMAGE> in which R represents an alkyl or hydroxyalkyl residue with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, possibly in the form of salts with inorganic or organic acids, as a developer substance, B) m-aminophenol as a coupler substance and C) at least one of the colouring components aminopicric acid, 2-amino-5-nitrophenol, 2- amino-4-nitrophenol, 2-amino- 5-(N- beta -hydroxyethylamino)- nitrobenzene, 6-amino-2- methylphenol and 2-amino-5- ethoxyphenol. Preferred compositions are those in which compound A is 2,5- diaminoanisole. |
