abstract | There is provided an assay for determining the presence of human mammary malignancies which comprises producing specific antibodies directed against human putative viral particles by isolating single cell clones producing human mammary putative viral particles, producing antibodies against those particles by conventional immunological techniques and determining the presence or absence of such malignancies by testing a body fluid for the content of viral antigens by serological methods using said antibodies. There is further provided a process for the production of specific antibodies directed against human mammary putative viral particles, which comprises isolating single cell clones producing human mammary putative viral particles; producing antibodies to same by conventional immunological techniques. |
