titleOfInvention Process of concentrating ores
abstract 207,977. Golby, F. W., (Luckenbach Processes, Inc.). Nov. 13, 1922. Flotation processes.-In the froth-flotation concentration of ores there is added to the ore pulp a chlorbenzene, dichlorbenzene, or a mixture of dichlorbenzenes, and a frothing and collecting agent, and the pulp is aerated in a neutral, alkaline, or acid circuit to form a froth, containing the mineral particles, which is separated from the pulp. The chlorbenzene is preferably commercial dichlorbenzene, a mixture of ortho-, para-, and possibly meta-dichlorbenzene, together with small quantities of trichlorbenzene. The preferred frothing agent is pine tar pitch dissolved in the chlorbenzene, but a solution of a bituminous substance or any other suitable frothing agent may be used. A small amount of rubber, dissolved in dichlorbenzene or in any other suitable solvent, may be added to the pitch-dichlorbenzene mixture to float carbonates, oxides or sulphides.
