Process Aids for Heat Cured Silicone Rubber Compositions |
abstract |
Process aids for heat cured silicone rubber compositions are the reaction product of a cyclictrisiloxane, and water or an aliphatic alcohol, formed in the presence of a catalyst which may be selected from certain moderate to high strength organic acids, lithium hydroxide, ammonia, ammonium hydroxide and primary amines. The advantage of such a process aid is that it is considerably less expensive to produce in silicone manufacturing facilities than the process aids that have been used in the past. |
