abstract Modified olefin polymers obtained by reacting monoolefin polymer and about 0.1 to about 20 weight percent relative to the weight of the monoolefin polymer of a substituted maleamic acid of the formula <IMAGE> in which R is a straight or branched alkylene radical of 1-18 carbon atoms, or <IMAGE> in which n is zero or one, and R% is a straight or branched alkylene radical of 2-18 carbon atoms, arylene of 6-12 carbon atoms, or said arylene substituted by C1-6 alkyl, C1-6 alkoxy or halogen, are useful as adhesives in the bonding of polymeric material to metal.
