titleOfInvention Determining speed of an object
abstract There is provided a device for determining varying rate of motion speed of a moving object, for example acceleration and/or deceleration in rate of a vehicle wheel rotation speed in an auto-motive vehicle, comprising a sensor means sequentially determining current motion speed of the object and producing a pulse signal duration of which is proportional to the determined motion speed, a clock signal generator generating a clock signal having duration representative of unit time for measurement of the motion speed, memory means for storing each data indicative of measured pulse duration of the sensor signals and an arithmetic means for effecting arithmetic operation for determining varying rate of motion speed of the moving object based on the stored data in the memory means. The device has a means for discriminating presence of difference of the sensor signal duration and generating a command for increasing the pulse numbers to be coupled as a group which is measured the duration thereof as a single pulse duration when the difference of the sensor signal duration is not detected or is less than a predetermined value. The device cyclically increment the pulse numbers to be coupled until the difference of the sensor signal duration is detected and is more than the predetermined value or until the coupled numbers of the pulses becomes equal to a given maximum numbers. <IMAGE>
