abstract Pyridine thromboxane synthetase inhibitors have the formula: <IMAGE> wherein m is 0 or 1; X is O or S; Y is either (a) -(CH2)n- wherein n is 0 or an integer of from 1 to 5 or (b) a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic group; R<1> is hydrogen or a C1-C4 alkyl group; and R<2> is a polar group, provided that when Y is isoxazolyl, R<2> may also be methyl. The compounds may be converted to their pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts and/or formulated as pharmaceutical compositions.
