abstract | The invention relates to a process for generating a magnetic induction field within a magnetic medium. According to the invention, a magnetic excitation field and selection wave (e.g. an acoustic wave producing mechanical stress) are caused to act simultaneously at each point of a path of at least one non- saturated part of the magnetic medium so as to modify the magnetic properties of the medium at this point by degrading them and thus producing therein the induction field. Applicable to devices for generating a magnetic field used in magnetic data recording systems. |
