| abstract | A tractor hydraulic control system including an actuator (12) for raising and lowering an implement hitch (10, 11). The supply of fluid to and exhaust of fluid from the actuator is controlled by a main control valve (17) and an actuator locking valve (80) is provided in the connection between the actuator and main control valve. The locking valve comprises a housing (100) including a hydraulically balanced and slidable spool (83a) with a valve member (83), a valve seat (84), and a manually operable actuating means (101) extending from the housing and connected with the spool to allow the valve member to be brought into contact with the seat to lock the actuator in a particular position.
