titleOfInvention | Bilirubin-resistant determination of uric acid |
abstract | A composition, test device, method of making a test device and process for bilirubin-resistant determination of uric acid in a fluid sample are disclosed. The composition comprises means responsive to the presence of uric acid in the sample, a phenol or napthol and 4-amino- phenazone comprising a ferrocyanide ion, which imparts resistance to interference by bilirubin. The uric acid responsive means is preferably of the type which determines peroxides formed from enzymatic conversion of uric acid. The composition can be incorporated with a carrier to provide the test device. |
