titleOfInvention Epoxy resin-butadiene polymer compositions
abstract Compositions comprise an epoxy resin and two tipped butadiene polymers. Preferably a dihydroxy compound, such as a diphenol, is also included. The compositions are gellable to an incompletely cross-linked, but tack-free state which enables the compositions to be used as adhesives. Substrates are coated with the compositions, gelled and substrates assembled. The cross- linking is completed to laminate the assembly. The adhesive compositions of the invention can be formulated to be substantially solvent-free and therefore there is not the problem, associated with many currently used adhesive compositions, of removing hazardous solvents in order to obtain adhesion.
