titleOfInvention Composite Material and Method of Producing the Same
abstract A composite material for use in lightweight concrete aggregates comprises a solid porous carrier the pores of which are filled with a polyolefin having a molecular weight of not less than 300,000, wherein at least 4 per cent of the total volume of the pores of the carrier are filled with the polyolefin, and wherein the ratio of the mass of the porous carrier to the mass of the polyolefin is 50- 99.5:50-0.5; this composite material is produced by precipitating, from the gas phase, a complex organometallic catalyst which comprises a compound of a transition metal and an organic compound of a metal contained in the 2nd or 3rd group of the Periodic Table, into the pores of a solid porous carrier, and polymerizing one or more olefins from the gas phase on the said catalyst precipitated in the pores of the solid porous carrier, at a temperature of 50-165 DEG C and a pressure of 1-60 atm. Suitable porous carriers are granular ceramsite gravel, tripoli gravel, fired clay, expanded perlite, foamed glass and porous slag.
