abstract | 1356. Karplus & Herzberger. Jan 29, 1914, [Convention date]. Bandages and d r e s s i n g s.-Substitutes for plasters &c. are prepared by impregnating furs with the required medicament. Suitable furs are rabbit, hare, cat, and the fleece of small lambs. Medicaments stated to be employed are salicylic acid, capsicum, mustard oil, camphor, and menthol. The medicaments may be applied in the form of solutions in volatile solvents, or may be added to the solutions in which the skins are tanned. Subsequent treatment of the skins includes stretching, fulling, and softening, and smoothing the hair and flesh sides. Fastenings, such as buckles &c., may be attached. |
