Aniline-black and like dyeing.-Hair, skins, feathers, and the like, are dyed by means of derivatives of 2 : 4-phenylenediamine containing in 5-position a nitro group, and in 1-position an alkyl or alkoxy group or a halogen atom, in baths containing an oxidizing-agent. The skins may be previously mordanted with copper, iron, or chromium mordants. According to examples, yellow shades are obtained on skins bv means of 5-nitro-2 : :4-diaminoanisol, or 5-nitro-2 : 4-diaminotoluene, and hydrogen peroxide; 5-nitro- 1-chlor-2:4-diaminobenzene is also specified as a suitable material, and sodium perborate as an oxidizing-agent. |
