Arsenious acid.-Gases containing arsenious chloride, such as those obtained in the purification of sulphuric acid by the process described in Specification No. 7916, A.D. 1905, are passed into water containing alkalies or alkaline earths, or carbonates of these, or raw materials containing the above, or mixtures of them, or oxides or carbonates of heavy metals, such as zinc oxide, the oxide obtained by roasting zinc blende, manganese mud, or hydrated oxide of iron ; arsenious acid is precipitated.
