Designs on face, producing.-Woven fabrics are printed in one, two, or more colours, some of which are mixed with a resist consisting of gum arabic and dextrin alone or combined with zinc oxide, china clay, or the like, so that, when the fabric is subsequently subjected to a nap or pileraising operation, the coloured portions treated with the resist will not be raised. The other colours may be mixed with gum tragacanth, glycerine, and fatty matters to facilitate raising. |
