titleOfInvention | Process for the preparation of tropinone-mono-carboxylic acid esters |
abstract | Tropinone monocarboxylic esters are obtained by partial saponification and elimination of carbon dioxide from tropinone dicarboxylic esters (which can be obtained by condensing together the acetone dicarboxylic ester, succindialdehyde, and methylamine). In an example the dicarboxylic diethyl ester is boiled with alcoholic potash, acidified, supersaturated with ammonia, and the monocarboxylic ester isolated by extraction with ether or chlorinated hydrocarbons. |
