abstract | 158,460. Schwartz, Y. A. F. Feb. 6, 1920. Coating.-Metals are coated with silver by applying a powder moistened with water. The pcwder contains a phosphate of silver and an organic acid together with a polishing material and, as an example, may be made up of 10 parts by weight of silver orthophosphate, 8 of tartaric acid, and 82 of kieselguhr. Or solutions containing equivalent quantities of silver nitrate and sodium orthophosphate may be mixed with the other components and the mixture dried and reduced to powder. |
