abstract | The chromium source consists of an aqueous chromium(III) thiocyanate complex solution in which a chromium(III)/thiocyanate ratio of 1:6 is present. The preparation is carried out by an aqueous solution of a hexathiocyanatochromium(III) salt being brought into chemical equilibrium. The solution is heated or subjected to an electrochemical reduction and subsequent oxidation process. When using the chromium source for electroplating, fixed concentrations, current densities and pH values are maintained. |
