titleOfInvention Process for purifying water using bis-isothiouronium salts
abstract For the preparation of bis-isothiuronium salts of the formula (I): <IMAGE> in which R and R' are hydrogen atoms or lower alkyl or R is a phenyl or cyclohexyl group and R' is a hydrogen atom, A and X<(-)> are as defined in claim 1, a compound of the general formula (II> X-A-X (II) is reacted with a thiourea derivative of the general formula (III): R-NH-CS-NH-R' (III> in which R and R' are as defined above. The bis-isothiuronium salts are used for the purification of effluent containing organic compounds of anionic character.
