abstract | 1535877 Azine pigments CIBA GEIGY AG 10 Aug 1977 [8 Sept 1976] 37151/76 Heading C4P [Also in Division C2] The invention comprises pigments of the general formula wherein X is an oxygen atom or > NR 4 where R 4 is H, C 1 -C 4 alkyl, C 6 -C 10 aryl or C 7 -C 12 aralkyl, Y is H or halogen, R, is H or methyl, R 2 is H, C 1 -C 4 alkyl, C 6 -C 10 aryl or C 7 -C 12 aralkyl, R 3 is C 1 -C 4 , C 6 -C 10 aryl, C 7 -C 12 aralkyl or is acyl containing a carbocyclic aromatic ring, or R 2 + R 3 together with the bound C atom form a 5- or 6-membered carbo- or hetero-cyclic ring each of which may bear fused rings and may be substituted by non watersolubilizing groups, R 5 has the same meanings as R 4 , and R 2 and R 3 may be substituted by non watersolubilizing groups. They are prepared by reacting a hydrazone having the general formula with an aldehyde or ketone OC(R 2 )R 3 or by reacting a hydrazone of the general formula H 2 N-N = C(R 2 )R 3 with an aldehyde or ketone of the general formula The hydrazones may be prepared in situ. The pigments colour cellulose ethers and esters, polyamides, polyurethanes, polyesters, natural and synthetic resins, alkyd resins, phenolic plastics, polycarbonates, polyolefins, p.v.c., polyacrylonitrile, polyacrylic esters, thermoplastic or curable acrylic resins, rubber, casein, silicone, and silicone resin singly or in admixture, paints and inks. |
