abstract 1535040 Curing ethylene polymers UNION CARBIDE CORP 26 Nov 1975 [27 Nov 1974] 48656/75 Heading C3P A scorch resistant vulcanizable composition comprises 100 parts by weight of an ethylene polymer, from 0À1 to 5À0 parts of bis(tertiary butyl peroxy isopropyl)benzene and/or 2,5-dimethyl-2,5-di-tertiary butyl peroxy hexane and from 0À1 to 2À0 parts of tertiary butyl hydroperoxide, optionally including cumene hydroperoxide. Examples are given in which the ethylene polymer is polyethylene, ethyleneethyl acrylate copolymer or ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer. Tri(methoxyethoxy)vinyl silane is included in the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer composition.
