1534952 Flame-retardant polyisocyanurate foams STAMICARBON BV 15 April 1976 [19 April 1975] 15603/76 Heading C3R [Also in Division C2] Novel flame-retardant polymer additives and co-monomers have the formula wherein each X independently is H, halo, C 1-6 alkyl, -YOH, or -Y-P(O)(OR) 2 , at least one X being -Y-P(O)(OR) 2 , where Y is C 1-6 alkylene, C 1-6 haloalkylene, or -R<SP>1</SP>(OR<SP>2</SP>) n - (where n is 1-3 and R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> are each C 1-3 alkylene); and each R independently is a C 1-6 alkyl, C 3-6 cycloalkyl, or phenyl group, optionally bearing one or more halo substituents. In Examples V-VII polyisocyanurate foams are prepared from mixtures comprising "polymethylene polyphenylisocyanate" and a compound of Formula I and, when the latter itself contains no free hydroxy groups, tris(hydroxymethyl)isocyanuric acid. |
