abstract 1534847 Silver oxide particles HITACHI MAXELL Ltd 18 July 1977 [16 July 1976(3)] 30045/77 Heading C1A [Also in Divisions B5 and H1] Particles of silver (II) oxide having a surface of silver (I) oxide for use in battery electrodes (see Division H1) are formed by adding a silver nitrate to a solution of sodium hydroxide and an oxidizing agent (K 2 S 2 O 8 , KMnO 4 , NaClO 2 ) to form silver (II) oxide particles, and then reducing them in NaOH and an aqueous solution of glycerol, glucose or formaldehyde or by heating in nitrogen. The particles may also contain Au.
