abstract 1529469 Acyl derivatives of thiazole-4-amines JOHN WYETH & BRO Ltd 15 Feb 1977 [18 Nov 1975 28 May 1976 4 Nov 1976] 47480/75 22478/76 and 34641/77 Heading C2C [Also in Division A5] Novel compounds Ia in which Hal is Cl or Br, R is perfluoro C 1-5 alkyl, C 1-5 alkyl (substituted one or more times by CF 3 , MeO, EtO, NH 2 , C 1-6 alkylamino, di- C 1-6 alkylamino, OH or CN or by two or more Cl or Br atoms) C 2-5 alkenyl, C 2-5 alkynyl or cyclopropyl, R<SP>1</SP> is H or C 1-6 alkyl and R<SP>3</SP> is H or COR<SP>4</SP> (where R<SP>4</SP> is as defined for R with R and R<SP>4</SP> being the same or different or R<SP>4</SP> is C 1-5 alkyl or C 4-5 cycloalkyl) are prepared by acylating a compound II to form a compound Ia (R<SP>3</SP> = H) and if desired further acylating this compound to introduce an R<SP>4</SP>CO- group. Compound Ia (Hal = Br, R=NH 2 CH 2 ; R<SP>1</SP>=H) is also prepared by hydrogenolysis of the corresponding 4-phthalimido acetamido compound. Compounds of Formula Ia where R is C 1-5 alkyl or C 4-5 cycloalkyl and R 3 is H are also prepared. 2-Chloro thiazole-4-carbonylazide is prepared by treating the corresponding hydrazine with NaNO 2 . 4-(2-phthalimido acetamido)-2- bromo-thiazole is prepared by amidation of 2- bromo-thiazole-4-amine.
