abstract 1529413 Test device with inhibitor MILES LABORATORIES Inc 2 March 1977 [18 March 1976 17 Sept 1976] 8880/77 Heading G1B A test composition which may be incorporated into a matrix of for example paper comprises a reactant system producing a detectable response on contact with a component to be determined in a sample and an inhibitor system which on contact with the sample prevents the reactant system from interacting with the component after elapse of a predetermined time. The inhibitor system may comprise a material which sets or hardens in contact with the sample, a substance capable of producing heat on contact with the sample or a poison for the reactant system, and all or part of the inhibitor system may be encapsulated in watersoluble or water-rupturable capsules. Examples relate to compositions for determination of glucose, aceto acetic acid urobilinogen and occult blood in urine.
