titleOfInvention | Low phosphate content glassy phosphate detergent compositions having optimum detergency |
abstract | 1528684 Granular detergent composition PROCTER & GAMBLE CO 19 Feb 1976 [20 Feb 1975 16 June 1975] 06599/76 Heading C5D Granular detergent compositions comprise (A) from 0À1 to 4À0% by weight of a glassy phosphate of formula:- wherein M is alkali metal, y is 5-50 and y :x is from 1:1 to 1:1À5; (B) from 5 to 34À9% by weight of a mixture of pyrophosphate and orthophosphate builder salts having a weight ratio of 1:1 to 200:1; (C) from 0 to 30% of a tripolyphosphate builder salt; and (D) from 3 to 30% by weight of an anionic, nonionic, zwitterionic or ampholytic surfactant; wherein the total amount of (A), (B) and (C) is 5-35% by weight of the composition. The surfactant may be a compound of formula:- wherein R, is C 6 -C 20 straight chain alkyl, R 2 is C 1 -C 3 alkyl and M is a salt-forming radical; a compound of formula:- wherein R 3 is C 6 -C 20 alkyl or alkenyl, R 4 is C 1 -C 10 alkyl and M is as defined above; a compound of formula:- wherein R 5 is C 9 -C 23 alkyl, R 6 is C 1 -C 8 alkyl and M is as defined above; a compound of formula:- wherein R, is C 10 -C 20 alkyl or alkenyl, X is 1-30 and M is as defined above; a C 12 -C 24 olefin sulphonate, an alkyl sulphate, an alkyl ether sulphate or an alkyl benzene sulphonate. Additional builders may be carbonates, bicarbonates, sesquicarbonates, silicates, sulphates or water insoluble aluminosilicate, of formula:- wherein z and y are each at least 6, the ratio of z to y is 1À0 to 0À5 and x is 15 to 264. In a modification (A) may consist of 1% to 90% by weight of a glassy phosphate and 10% to 99% by weight of a protective agent such as an ethoxylated carboxylic acid, an ethoxylated alcohol, an amide, a polyalkylene glycol, an ethoxylated alkyl phenol, a fatty acid or alcohol. |
