abstract | 1527028 Brominated triaryl phosphates BAYER AG 17 May 1976 [22 May 1975] 20255/76 Heading C2P Title compounds of formula (wherein X, Y and Z are each an aromatic radical of up to 18 carbon atoms optionally substituted by one or more C 1-6 alkyl groups, and a, b and c are each from 0 to 3, the sum a + b + c being from 0À5 to 6) are prepared from the corresponding non-brominated compounds (II) by reaction at - 10 to + 80‹ C. with either (i) up to 6 mols (per mol of II) of bromine chloride, or (ii) a mixture of chlorine and up to 3 mols (per mol of II) of bromine. Compounds I are said to be used for flameproofing plastics and fibres. |
