abstract | 1521030 Cementitious composite NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP 18 Dec 1975 [23 Dec 1974] 55453/74 Heading C1H [Also in Divisions C3 and D2] A glass fibre cementitious composite comprises fibres of an alkali-resistant glass containing zirconia or stannia in combination with a supersulphate cement. The latter may be derived from the hydraulic setting reaction of a reactive glassy material comprising silica, alumina, and calcia, with a calcium sulphate activator. The reactive glassy material may be a granulated blast furnace slag. The calcium sulphate may be a hydrated, partially hydrated, or anhydrous calcium sulphate. The composite may be produced in the form of pipes, boards, sheets using known techniques such as those described in Specification 1,200,732. The product is alleged to have improved long term durability when compared with ordinary Portland cement products reinforced with the same fibres. |
